About Diaspora & Migration Research Centre
Welcome to the Diaspora & Migration Research Centre at the School of International Studies and Diaspora (SISD) at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. We offer a robust academic program designed to explore the multifaceted dimensions of diaspora and migration, supported by our esteemed faculty known for their expertise and commitment to excellence.
Our Centre offers a Master of Arts in Diaspora and Migration Studies, focusing on the social, cultural, economic, and political aspects of migration and transnational settlement. Our interdisciplinary approach encompasses subjects such as cultural anthropology, literature, music, art history, cultural studies, sociology, history, and film studies. This curriculum provides both historically informed and forward-looking perspectives on cultural and social identities, diversity and integration, exile and memory, forced migration, and refugee communities.
We also offer a PhD program that delves deeper into the academic study of diaspora and migration, encouraging original research and critical analysis.
